Celtic were linked with appointing Jesse Marsch to succeed Neil Lennon last year, but the American manager had decided to take on a challenge at RB Leipzig at the time.

He failed to impress with the German club and was sacked halfway through the season. However, he wasted no time and joined Leeds while they were in a midst of a relegation battle. He had one job, to keep the club in the top tier of English football, and he did so.

Speaking while in Australia with his Leeds squad, Jesse passed on some nice comments about Ange Postecoglou, saying; [The Daily Record]

“I’m a big admirer of Ange. I think the work he has done here (in Australia), in Japan and then in Scotland has been really, really good. What a great first year he had with Celtic. I love seeing people challenge themselves.

“Have clear ideas, have teams that play in a very distinct manner and stay true to their identity. It is inspiring,”

Both managers have similar ideas of football, with attacking a priority for the gaffers.

Inspirational Ange Postecoglou

The Celtic manager will inspire many around the world. He’s always proving doubters wrong.

The job in Scotland was supposed to be too big for the manager, but he was unfazed about the challenge ahead.

He’ll be looked up to in his own country, sending waves throughout world football. He’s often talked about how Australians don’t normally make it outside of Downunder, but he’s proven that wrong.
