It was yet another disappointing night for Celtic in the Champions League as the Scottish champions were beaten 3-1 in Germany by RB Leipzig.

Celtic managed to pull themselves back into the game after Kyogo Furuhashi picked out Portuguese winger Jota who slotted the ball into the back of the net minutes after the second half had resumed.

Just after the hour mark, the home side took the lead, with the goal then being ruled out by VAR.

Moments later, as Joe Hart tried to pick Greg Taylor out with a pass, he played the ball straight to Szoboszlai, who slipped the ball into Andre Silva to give Leipzig the lead once again in the game. It was a total gift that practically killed it for Celtic.

Some fans have looked a bit too much into Hart’s comments at the end of the game as he noted that Ange Postecoglou wants his team to play out from the back.

Social media can be an echo chamber at times, with some Celtic fans believing that the former England international should be dropped, with blame also directed at him for the first goal.

Callum McGregor was quick to commit a professional foul at the weekend and should have done so to prevent the first goal after he had given the ball away on the edge of Leipzig’s box.

Celtic know they will be punished at this level if they do not focus with the ball being in the back of Hart’s net 13 seconds after McGregor was dispossessed.

Hart will know himself that he didn’t have the best of games last night but still pulled off some important saves throughout the game.

He’s done so much good since arriving in Glasgow last summer and calls to drop him are unfair and very premature.

Siegrist has never played at Champions League level before, and to take Hart out the team would be even more disruptive to the defence, which is already missing its first-choice centre-back pairing.
