Sergio Aguero announced his retirement from football on Wednesday morning. The former Manchester City striker has been forced to quit football due to a heart condition. The Argentine striker, who was contracted to Barcelona, teared up while announcing his decision.

Joe Hart was teammates with City’s all-time leading goalscorer and has sent him a touching message, saying;

“Kun, sad news mate. But I think it goes without saying that the entire footballing world appreciates you for the player that you are.

“People who have been lucky enough to know you from a personal point of view, you are a great team-mate and a great friend, and I wish you good luck in the future.

“It’s sad but I think it’s important that you look at all the amazing things that you’ve done.

“Good luck for the future, congratulations on an amazing career, and stay safe.”

It is incredibly sad news that a player, as good as Aguero will have his career cut short. Aged 33, he will always be remembered for his famous last-minute goal in 2012 that would see City clinch the title from Manchester United. Joe Hart was between the sticks for this game.

Again, Joe Hart has shown his class. He has been a brilliant signing and is a leader on and off the field.

The goalkeeper could arguably be Celtic’s best signing of the summer window, making many vital saves each game.

Everyone at CeltsAreHere.com sends their best wishes to Sergio Aguero.
