Former Celtic midfielder Joe Ledley has voiced his belief that fellow Welshman Craig Bellamy would be an ideal candidate for the role of Parkhead manager. However, the timing might not be right for this transition.

Bellamy, the current Wales manager, is known for his aggressive, front-foot style of management. Ledley believes that this approach, which has served the Welsh national team well, would also be beneficial for Celtic.

Bellamy’s connection with Celtic, where he played for a short period, further strengthens his suitability for the role.

Ledley stated:

“He’s very attack-minded, very aggressive, very on the front foot, presses very high. I just think the style of play he has with Wales would definitely suit Celtic. He’s very passionate about the club as well. He knows a lot about it, so for me he’d be perfect.”

Despite Bellamy’s suitability for the role, the timing of this potential move could be problematic. Following Brendan Rodgers’ resignation, Celtic have appointed former manager Martin O’Neill on an interim basis. Bellamy, who hopes to guide Wales to next year’s World Cup in the Americas, which some fans may watch on hesgoal, might not be available for a permanent position at Celtic just yet.

Bellamy himself has expressed his commitment to his current role, stating:

“I have to be honest, I’m completely focused on what’s to come. I couldn’t want for anything more than what I have at this present moment, and that’s where it lies with me.”

While Bellamy remains a strong candidate, other names have also been linked to the Celtic job. Kieran McKenna, who has been performing well at Ipswich and was previously linked with Chelsea, is one such potential candidate. Ultimately, the decision lies with the Celtic board.

Craig Bellamy’s aggressive style, passion for Celtic, and managerial intelligence make him a strong candidate for the Parkhead manager role. However, his current commitment to the Welsh national team and the timing of the managerial vacancy at Celtic could pose challenges.

As the situation unfolds, Celtic fans will be keenly watching to see who will take the reins at the club.
