Celtic are set to complete a loan deal for Norwegian winger Joel Mvuka before the transfer window shuts, with the Herald reporting that the agreement is now close after late changes to the structure of the move. What had been planned as a £3 million permanent transfer from Lorient has been reshaped in the final hours.
According to the Herald, medical tests flagged up an issue that caused concern and forced Celtic to pause the original deal. Rather than abandon the move, the club have renegotiated terms and are now expected to bring Mvuka in on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy in the summer.
Celtic still get a winger they believe can help straight away, without committing fully until there is more clarity. Mvuka has been short of starts in France and is keen for minutes. Celtic need a right-sided option who can attack defenders and offer pace against teams that sit in.
