Ex-Celtic youth academy product Ross Wallace has been shown the door at Fleetwood Town by former Ibrox flop Joey Barton after he was initially signed on a short term deal by the loud-mouthed boss – Fleetwood Town confirmed.
Barton is trying to carve a managerial career out for himself after Scott Brown virtually retired the midfielder during his stint in Scotland which ended with the player’s contract being ripped up.
Barton was subject of a police investigation in the dugout after it was alleged he used violence against another manager on the touchline.
Fleetwood Town are currently fourth in League one but will not be retaining the services of the former Celtic wing-back.
The former Barrowfield product made 28 appearances for Celtic before leaving the club for England where he’s remained to this day. Playing for Burnley, Sheffield Wednesday, Preston, Sunderland and Fleetwood.
At the age of 34, you would think Ross still has some miles left in the tank and will be on the lookout for a new club after Barton released him. We wish him all the best.
