The news that Johan Mjallby is to leave his post at the end of the season has taken many by surprise.

Although he recently spoke about going back to Sweden to be a head coach at some point, many didn’t expect it to be at the end of the current season.

The news has unsettled Celtic fans and has many speculating that Neil Lennon could be the next person to walk towards the Parkhead exit.

Clearly this is just speculation and should be taken as such but Neil Lennon has now lost half of his backroom team he brought in when he took over the club. Alan Thompson left under a cloud while Johan has decided it’s time for something new. This has to have unsettled the Celtic manager even if he wont admit it publicly.

With jobs in the Premiership up for grabs, will he now look to fulfil his ambition of working down south or is he still hungry for the treble that has eluded him thus far in Scotland.

It’s interesting times for Celtic going forward, if Neil does stay then he has a big job on his hands replacing his assistant manager as well as building a team fit for purpose if we’re to make the Champions League proper.

There have been no real signs of the gaffer wanting to leave but will these latest developments get him thinking about his immediate future.

Is it the right time for him to go, or does he still have a lot left in his Celtic locker?

Time will tell.
