JOHN HARTS was fairly diplomatic when he was asked who he thought was the better striker; Odsonne Edouard or Alfredo Morelos.

It’s the debate the media want to keep spinning round and round I’m afraid but the Welshman hit the nail on the head by saying they are two very different strikers. You can’t take Morelos’ goal haul away from him but you can’t argue with the amount of big goals Edoaurd has come up with for Celtic over the piece. The Frenchman delivering when it really matters.

Hartson also managed to get a cheeky dig in at Kris Boyd by comparing Alfredo’s goal drought against Celtic to Kris boyd who banged in a lot of goals in his time but only one ever against Celtic.

“The fact he hasn’t scored against Celtic means more of an opportunity to stay hungry and want to face them. Kris Boyd had a similar record but only got one against Celtic.” Hartson told RecordSport.

The mark of a top striker is continuing to win your club trophies when the heat is on. Edouard’s late goals, his cup final winning finish, Ibrox 3-2 winner all points to a lad who relishes the big ties.

Boyd banged goals in against easier opposition – when it came to playing Celtic or his stint down south – he couldn’t cut it.

John can certainly say he managed to score his fair share of big goals and has more than both when it comes to a Glasgow Derby.
