JOHN HARTSON has reacted to the news Jeremie Frimpong is no longer a Celtic player.
The transfer from Celtic to Bayer Leverkusen was made official on Wednesday evening ahead of Celtic’s tie against Hamilton at home.
Frimpong had been looking for a way out of the club in recent months, Neil Lennon told the media yesterday.
He burst onto the scene at the start of last season, brought in as a project, he was soon making the first team squad.
Jeremie made the right-back or just right hand side of the pitch of his own over the past 12 months but he has suffered a long with many of his teammates this term.
Below-par performances and having no James Forrest to play alongside hurt the player. His development was stagnating and he’s clearly felt the need to go seek a move elsewhere.
Speaking about the former Celtic player, John Hartson believes the little defender put in some top performances and has the heart of a lion.
Frimpong always made himself available, got the team up the pitch gave us an out when we were camped in our own half.lacked top quality but had real pace, and a heart of a lion..

Celtic can’t really grumble with the move, getting around £11.5m for a player you paid 300k for 18 months ago is a great piece of business.
There will be fans asking how a young man, so enthusiastic about his Celtic career just six months ago wanted out so quickly in the end. It speaks to a bigger issue at the club where the players aren’t buying into this current management regime.
so true john
There’s more to this than mets the eye. Will we told, no chance. The way fans are being treated will be remembered when they come looking for money.
Maybe decent business but is that all the matters these days?
Wee man was a joy to watch last season and his desperation to leave really doesn’t reflect well on the manager and his coaching staff
