SNOOKER LEGEND John Higgins admitted he played through the pain in the Scottish open but the reason why will have many Celtic fans relating to him.

The wizard of Wishaw told the BBC Website he had injured himself after a few drinks celebrating Celtic’s League Cup Win at the start of December.

The snooker star admitted he would have pulled out of the competition had it not been in Scotland.

“It’s a floating broken rib, it’s happened before,” he told Eurosport.

“It’s a football injury. It was the League Cup final up here last weekend (Celtic beat Aberdeen on 2 December) and I’d had a few drinks..”

There will be plenty of Celtic fans who can relate to John on that one for sure. Injuring themselves watching the bhoys and having to go to work the next day.

John is a die hard Celtic fan and has always cheered on the hoops. The player once paraded his trophy at Celtic Park back in 98 as Celtic stopped the ten.

The day before the final, John was knocked out of the UK Championship and then headed straight for Hampden the next day.

Maybe he fancied an early finish to go see the bhoys.
