JOHN KENNEDY will send out his team at Ibrox today in the hope they can finally get one over their rivals this season.

It’s been a hard watch this term. Neil Lennon paid the price with his job and most certainly should have left the club sooner than he did.

Despite Celtic’s poor form this season, the interim Celtic boss has revealed the squad and Neil were close and there’s guilt in the dressing room the way things transpired.

When something stops working, it can be a variety of reasons and this season has been a perfect storm.

Kennedy believes this group have been shocked into action since Lennon’s departure and he’s hoping to use that energy to win the game.

“Sometimes in the midst of a storm, when there is so much noise about the manager leaving, things can become a wee bit lost but there is a reality check whenever that happens.” Kennedy told CelticTV.

“Someone has had to lose their job because of the group performance and that sometimes shocks people into action.

“We kind of used that as a motivation at the start.

“We are all very close to Neil, worked very well with him, had a successful period beforehand and it hurt everybody. It wasn’t a case of putting the responsibility on to Neil because we all felt responsible for that.

“We had to all be accountable for that and use it as a stimulant going forward to make sure we improved and we have done that.”

Celtic have been undone in these fixtures by poor defending at set pieces.

We’ve rarely been hurt in open play and it’s something we must be wary of if we want the win.

You can have all the drive and determination in the world but if you can’t do the fundamentals, you’re going to struggle.

It’s Celtic’s last shot at silverware this season, will they rise to the occasion!?
