JOHN KENNEDY has given a brief update on James Forrest after the Celtic midfielder limped off during Celtic’s 6-0 win against Livingston.

James and co were on fire as they steamrolled past Livi in what has to be branded as their best performance of the season.

In the second half, James pulled up with nobody around him and immediately signalled to the bench.

He played no further part in proceedings and Ryan Christie came on for James and grabbed himself a goal to make it 6 on the day.

The supporters are holding their breath in the hope James will be fit because he has been a game-changer in the past two outings.

Speaking after the game, John Kennedy confirmed to the Celtic Pass he did take James off as a precaution but admitted they will need to monitor the situation over the weekend and see how he is Monday.

“He felt his back really stiff, and general tightness around his hamstrings

“I took him off as a precaution, we’ll assess James over the next 48 hours”

Fingers crossed the Celtic star is ok for next Saturday, he could be the key to the Scottish Cup fifth round.
