Midweek, photographs emerged showing Dermot Desmond at Celtic Park in conversation with Bhoys boss Ange Postecoglou. This development naturally sparked a flurry of speculation among Celtic fans, curious about the content of their discussion.

John Kennedy, who assumed press duties in Postecoglou’s absence this week, remained notably short and non-disclosive when questioned about the incident. The 39-year-old was quoted by the Daily Record as saying, “It was a meet-up and a private chat.”

Kennedy’s candid and straightforward response could suggest one of two scenarios. It could mean that the meeting was exactly as he described, a casual meet-up.

Alternatively, it could imply that the discussion was more substantial, possibly concerning the budget, Postecoglou’s contract, or another significant topic.

If the latter scenario is true, it’s highly improbable that Celtic’s assistant manager would divulge any details to the press willingly. At this juncture, Celtic fans are left to fill the vacuum with our own speculation.

The season is almost at its end and that’s when speculation surrounding the squad really kicks in.
