On-loan right-back, Jonjoe Kenny has opened up about his future going into next season after being asked where he sees himself playing going forward.

Speaking in today’s press conference ahead of Saturday’s fixture against Livingston, the Everton full-back did his best not to give too much information away but did express his delight at being given the opportunity to play for the club this season.

“I’ve loved every minute of it. It’s been brilliant for me because I’ve come here and got play for a massive club like this. Nothing’s been said right now (about his future).

“I think there’s a lot of games to go, cups to play in, and for me personally I just want to keep going day-by-day. I know it’s a boring answer for you, but I just want to keep on looking forward.”

Since joining, Kenny has been a fairly solid acquisition in the majority of games.

When he was signed back on deadline day in January, it very much felt like a bit of a short-term stopgap signing with the 23-year old only likely to spend six months in Glasgow.

The right-back situation needs a lot of work going into the next campaign. We started the season with both Hatem Elhamed and Jeremie Frimpong and will end it with both having departed halfway through.

So, whoever the new manager is has a big job to do with overhauling not only that position but the squad as a whole.
