You can cross Jordan Ayew off the list of potential Celtic signings after a ‘family spokesman’ told Goal.com he and Celtic have not crossed paths.
The 26-year-old forward is expected to leave Swansea this summer after their relegation from the Premier League. Reports surfacing last month claimed Ayew was a potential target for Brendan Rodgers, however, it appears not to be the case.
“There was no iota of truth in the story that Celtic were closing in on Jordan. No iota of truth or whatsoever,” the Family spokesman admitted.
“Of course there are clubs knocking on his doors [ahead of next season] but I cannot confirm, conclude or say anything about it as at now.”
Celtic are looking to step up their recruitment drive in the next four weeks as the bhoys look to strengthen key areas ahead of Champions League qualifiers.
Celtic fans are crying out for some defensive reinforcements rather than attacking stars at this point.
