Jordan Lotomba will travel to Scotland today, Wednesday, to finalise his transfer to Celtic, according to 1908.nl.
CeltsAreHere exclusively revealed on Monday night that the Feyenoord right-back had emerged as a target for the Hoops, with the club looking to add cover in the position.
We followed that up with an update on Tuesday revealing that Feyenoord could allow Lotomba to leave without demanding an upfront transfer fee.
Instead, Celtic are understood to have negotiated a deal which could include add-ons and a percentage of any future sale.
Lotomba’s contract with Feyenoord runs until next summer and the Dutch club have been open to allowing him to move on.
That has suited Celtic, who were reluctant to pay a sizeable transfer fee for a player who could potentially be available for nothing in less than 12 months.
The move has now accelerated, with Lotomba set to travel to Scotland as Celtic look to get the deal over the line.
The Swiss international would provide some much-needed depth at right-back, with Alistair Johnston facing a spell on the sidelines.
Colby Donovan has impressed whenever called upon and has carried that form into the new season, but expecting the academy graduate to cope with the demands of playing every Thursday and Sunday would be a big ask.
Celtic need reinforcements in the position and Lotomba’s experience could provide Martin O’Neill with another option as the Hoops prepare for a busy schedule domestically and in the Europa League.
The 27-year-old is now expected in Scotland as Celtic look to complete yet another piece of late transfer-window business.
