Ibe? Meling? Gumny? Others? Are they coming to Paradise?

We’ll have to wait and see if any of them turn up but one thing that appears to be clear is that there WILL be incoming transfer activity before the window firmly closes in less than two weeks. Whilst Celtic may occasionally (actually, make that frequently) be unwilling to disclose information of potential signings the club is quite good at keeping its activity secret until there is something to say.

There are a number of positions that need to be addressed; the gaffer and board are surely aware of what needs to be done. This is not a transfer window that can be allowed to close without positive action and there should be no doubt among the fans that movement will happen.

Remember, the EPL window closing last Thursday means that the club can now make positive attempts to sign players who can no longer move within their own league. The list of suitors is now significantly shorter for fringe players of top English sides and our ranking in that list is much closer to the top than it was just 12 days ago. The sound of the ticking clock is getting louder and Celtic are in a financial position to make a big impact if the board choose to do so. And they will. Hail Hail

    • Thank you for your comment CD, always welcome. At no point did I name a player and say he was coming. I made reference to the names that are being bandied about by various sources as ‘almost-done deals’ which so far haven’t materialised and I have ended by saying that in my opinion Celtic will bring in new blood without specifically naming any player. The club has again arrived too late for the party as far as Europe is concerned, well the top table of European football anyway in the shape of the Champions League, but domestically there is still time to put it right. I apologise if you misunderstood the jist of the article.

  1. I keep saying, the fact we have NOT brought anyone in to go straight into the first team now for weeks is just excellarating Lennon’s departure,we can have no sympathy for him, as for Lawwell he will get his at the AGM, the losers in all of this is US the fans
We have seen with previous signings how long it takes to settle into a new surrounding yet we still wait until 10 days to go in the window and still nothing, defeat in any of the next 4 games and changes will need to be made, Celtic once again are the only team to jeopardize 9 and 10 and it looks like it from here that we have done just that.
