Jose Cifuentes has spoken out over a potential move to Celtic but has conceded at this stage there’s nothing concrete in place to bring the midfielder to Celtic Park.

There has been rumours for weeks about the under 20 star’s next move in football with both Manchester City and Celtic linked with the Ecuadorian.

After starring in the under 20 World Cup, Cifuentes has caught the eye of many and he seems excited to make a move to Europe to continue his career.

The defensive midfielder has commented that there’s interest from Celtic, nothing formally offered or agreed and his agent is currently dealing with things.

“I think that [as you say] it’s a rumour, and as for any contact [with Celtic] my agent is handling that. I understand that there is interest but nothing concrete.” he told Football Scotland.

Jose wanted to make it clear he knows all about Celtic and has done since before the rumoured interest. For the youngster, it’s all about getting into European football and Celtic could be a great place to learn.

“I want to have the opportunity to leave for Europe. Celtic is a big club with everything that they play for. I had heard of the club before [the interest started].”

If Celtic did manage to get him to Paradise, he certainly fits the signing criteria. A young player who can develop and be sold on for massive profit down the line.
