THE AGENT of Joseph Okumu has confirmed that Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic are interested in the KAA Gent defender’s services.

However, he admits that Celtic could lose out, with Arsenal and Dortmund also holding an interest in the player, with the latter already making an official approach.

As quoted by People Daily, the Defender’s agent said;

“We have had informal interest from English side Arsenal and Scottish giants Celtic, but German side Borussia Dortmund is the first side to make an official inquiry about the central defender who is open to a move if a proper agreement is reached.”

Celtic will find it hard to fend off interest from top German and English teams, especially with Dortmund already making contact with the player.

Adding strength to the centre of defence seems to be a priority for the manager. With Cameron Carter-Vickers looking likely to join Celtic this summer, the manager is still looking to provide cover and challenge the duo already in place.

Stephen Welsh is still very raw and could do with a season out on loan with prolonged first-team experience. After returning from fourteen months out, Chris Jullien looks like he’s on his way out of Celtic, still to start a match since his return. His comments suggest he’s accepted his fate and is looking for a move away.
