Josip Juranovic has been out injured since going off in the Scottish Cup semi-final back in April. The right back has been struggling to get match fit and hasn’t been in any match day squads as the season heads to its conclusion.

The Croatian has been a pivotal player for the Hoops this term ands has really made the right back position his own despite strong competition from a resurgent Anthony Ralston.

Josip was on the field post-match against Hearts on Saturday to do a lap with the Celtic fans after they defeated the Edinburgh 4-1 in the midday kick off.

The result all but sealed the league title. The bhoys head to Dundee on Wednesday night knowing avoiding a defeat would mean it’s officially done.

Ange confirmed to Celtic fan media outlet ‘The Cynic’ the player will not make the midweek game but has an outside chance of being fit for the Motherwell tie.

Celtic have already done the hard work this season, if Juranovic isn’t quite there come Saturday, there’s absolutely no reason to risk him. He would then have a well earned break followed by a full pre-season to build himself back up to match fitness.

Ange and his bhoys will lift the trophy on Saturday at Celtic Park which is sure to be a great occasion.

The good news is, there’s no new injury worries from the weekend’s game.

  1. I’d leave him out, no point in him having the possibility of picking up another injury. We’re going to need all players fit and injury free for the start of the new season.
