Croatian journalist Izak Ange Sucic hasn’t wasted any time in letting his social media followers know the Josip Juranovic rumours aren’t true.

We reported earlier today Graeme Bailey was pushing a story surrounding Josip being chased by both Chelsea and Manchester Utd.

Izak, who will have his sources close to Juranovic and Croatian football has posted a one word response to the speculation – ‘nope’.

Josip has been the Celtic player most talked about this summer. Links to Atletico Madrid in pre-season came up several times to the point the player was asked about any interest.

It’s little wonder there is speculation because Celtic have a real player in Juranovic and they also have him on a long term deal.

It’s great to see Izak quashing the rumours at his end. Celtic fans are relaxed about outgoings for the first time in a lot of years. Usually, we’d be spending the whole summer fretting over losing some of our best players. This is a rare window because we did so much business last year, the players who are performing to a high level are still very much on their Celtic cycle and aren’t pushing for a move away.

We do suspect it’ll be a little bit more fraught next year, but for now, we can be satisfied that if anyone is sold, they’re either surplus to requirements or we’ve received a wild bid.
