JOTA was missing from Celtic’s squad for their match against RB Leipzig on Tuesday, with the manager admitting in the run-up to the game that the winger was a doubt.

It was no surprise that his absence was confirmed, as he adds his name to Celtic’s growing injury list, with Liel Abada also going off injured in the first half of the encounter. Although, thankfully, Postecoglou doesn’t think the Israeli’s injury is too serious.

Like Abada, Ange Postecoglou isn’t too concerned about Jota, delivering an update on the winger post-match. Admitting he could be out again at the weekend, the Celtic manager said; [The Scotsman]

Jota is still a bit sore today.

“He needs a bit of investigation. It’s nothing serious. It may still keep him out of the weekend but we will see how it goes.”

Had Jota played on Tuesday, it could’ve turned out differently. In front of goal, Celtic were poor, unable to take their chances. They missed someone that would collect the ball on the left and make something happen.

It leaves fans doubting Daizen Maeda, who put in one of his worst performances in a Celtic short last night. Supporters were baffled at how Maeda stayed on the pitch for longer than Hatate, Haksabanovic and Kyogo.
