CELTIC’S hopes of signing Jota have been significantly boosted after Benfica boss Roger Schmidt has confirmed that the winger is not part of his plans at the club.
Furthermore, The Athletic also confirms that a move to Celtic for the Portuguese star is close because the player is keen to move to the Scottish side as it’s the best place for him to develop. He believes his immediate future lies in Glasgow.
Looks close now and might not have the novelty of a brand new transfer, but if Celtic's policy this summer is to sign players who are, or can become, Champions League quality, then Jota is a good candidate. In that sense he would be a significant signing.https://t.co/RcJmWSZzVT

This is brilliant news for Celtic, as news has emerged that Carter-Vickers has agreed on personal terms, Jota is following in his footsteps.
The winger set Scottish football alight during his loan spell, scoring thirteen goals and registering fourteen assists.
As Celtic prepare for Champions League football, the club are showing their intent to improve. Before the window officially opens, Celtic could have at least two signings wrapped up. The Ange Postecoglou effect.
Postecoglou can now look elsewhere in his team and identify the areas he feels need some improvement. After the two loan deals are finalised, the Celtic boss will likely look to strengthen the left-back position, with the club already being linked to numerous players in recent weeks.
Getting these two players would be a major coup for Celtic!
Ange and the clubs team will be busy working on other transfers atm too, and I’d imagine there’ll be a few new faces at the club once the transfer window officially opens.
