Jota is now a Celtic player! There’s no more anxiety surrounding his future at the club, until next summer when the inevitable rumours start, and he’s linked to a Celtic exit.

Jota had a great relationship with many players throughout the course of last season, but his bond with Kyogo was on another level.

The players knew exactly what the other was doing without communicating and complimented each other well.

The winger, who penned a 4-year deal with an option of an additional season, was brilliant with the Fan Media on Friday. He engaged and was enthusiastic when answering the equations posed to him. He told us;

Kyogo is an amazing player. Some of his movements are world-class. I’m not sure if there is many players in the world who can do his movements, and I’ve seen a lot of strikers, Quality strikers. To be in the same team with Kyogo just helps.”

Jota’s Dip in Form

It’s no coincidence that Jota’s form dipped when Kyogo was sidelined injured. When the Japanese striker returned from injury, he gave the whole team a boost but in particular, Jota. The winger’s performance levels seemed to have increased, but in fact, because of the way they complement each other and make it easy to pull things off, the end product was more visible.

Postecoglou will be hoping the duo can stay fit this season and they prepare to build on last season’s success.

  1. A lot of our players would do well to get on the same wavelength as Kyogo, as his brilliant off the ball movement often goes to waste through midfielders preferring to hold the ball up; noticed the same thing when he played for Japan too.

    Be hoping the club sign a couple of creative Midfielders this window, definitely a Right Mid as we’re a bit short in that position, and a Centre Mid.
