Since joining on the club summer deadline day, Portuguese winger Jota has already gone on to become a key figure in Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic squad.

The 22-year old scored for the second consecutive game on Saturday, as he opened the scoring at Fir Park with a lovely left-footed finish into the back of the net.

After the game, Jota provided supporters with an insight into the sort of mentality Postecoglou has implemented on the squad, as his focus turned to Tuesday’s Europa League tie against Ferencvaros.

As quoted by Glasgow Live, he said: “These games against Ferencvaros are very important.

“We want to deliver a victory at home in front of our fans, our family.

“We’re ready to play in the morning, afternoon or the evening. Just put us on the pitch, and we’ll do our thing. It doesn’t matter about the time.

“We know the fans want us to deliver results, but that’s good pressure to have. We must go into games with a winning mentality.”

It might still be early days for Jota in Glasgow, but some fans are already insisting the club should pay the money to make his temporary deal permanent – with the £6.5 million option to buy included in the agreement.

If he keeps on scoring goals and producing the performances he has done so far, you wouldn’t imagine it would be long before Ange and the club agrees with that statement.

It is also great to see that mentality that the 56-year old has brought to the squad already, with players like Jota who have just joined the club and are itching to get back out on the pitch and win games of football.
