There have been reports and rumours both home and abroad about Jota’s Celtic status.
Sky Sports tonight have confirmed the rumour Celtic are pushing forward with the permanent signing of the Portuguese winger.
It’s surprising to many who believed the club would wait to thrash things out in the summer, but the bhoys clearly believe the value for money is there and they can certainly make a tidy profit on the player when the time comes.
Not only is the Jota deal being discussed but the Celtic board and Michael Nicholson are looking at brining Carter-Vickers on board full time as well.
It would be a huge financial outlay for the club but much less of a risk knowing both players have already shown their worth to Celtic.
If the club were to sign one or both this month, Celtic fans would be absolutely delighted.
There are so many variables in these deals but hopefully deals can be done.
Celtic have options to buy on both players but negotiations suggest the Hoops are trying to land the players for less than their option price.
Just pay the money, both players are quality and would quickly repay any financial outlay, both in terms of titles and trophies
