Celtic are keen to make Jota’s loan deal permanent, however, the final decision lies with the player.

If Benfica offers him more minutes on a potential return it will be a no brainer for the lifelong Eagles fan.

Despite enjoying his time at Celtic, it will be his dream to make it at his boyhood club but Jota must take into consideration the chance Celtic are offering.

Celtic have been linked to Mehdi Ghayedi by the Iranian press. The 23-year-old can play from the left or through the centre, taking a similar position to Jota. Could the club be preparing to bring the payer to Glasgow in the case Jota decided to give Benfica another go? [Scotsman]

Postecoglou has admitted he is looking in leagues further afield to find hidden gems, as he has done in the J-league. [Scotsman]

There have been no further updates from Jota’s side, ultimately the power is in hands with both clubs involved keen to keep the player.

Celtic looks to be being proactive in finding a replacement just in case, with the club making contact with Shabab Al-Ahli, to who he is currently contracted. There have been rumours of a rejected bid, however, the Iranian press is not the most reliable.

Bringing Jota to Celtic on a permanent deal would be an unbelievable piece of business. If Celtic can get it done, it will be cause for celebration.

Everything is just reports at the minute, we will no doubt get a clearer picture in the coming months.
