The winger is only a month into his Celtic career so we don’t want want to get ahead of ourselves. After all, we have seen in recent times loan players who come in and hit the ground running only for them to taper off. Diego Laxalt is a prime example of getting overhyped about a loan player before all is said and done.
It goes without saying we just want to see Jota continue to play well for The Bhoys and towards the end of the season – we’ll see what happens.

How much will Jota cost Celtic in the summer?
Reports suggest the fee Benfica and Celtic have agreed on is around the £6m mark. This is according to Sky Sports and other major outlets.
The fee is still fairly large from a Celtic point of view, but if it’s for a proven player with less risk then it becomes more of a no brainer.
The player’s contract with the Portuguese club runs until 2024 – so there will be no cut-price deal.
Wages

If Celtic did look to sign the former Portugal under 21 on a permanent basis, he would be looking for a step up in wages – given his current remuneration is relatively low – it’s again within Celtic’s remit.
Verdict
As I pointed out at the beginning of the article, we can see a drop off in performances from some loan players. If Jota does continue his upward trajectory – the club would be crazy not to secure him. With the fee nailed down – it would come down to the player’s wishes.
