Jota is set to be announced as a PERMANENT Celtic player later on Friday in what will be a massive coup for the Scottish Champions.

The Bhoys in Green have been working on a deal for the Portuguese star for quite some time and it’s always looked very likely.

The news overnight from in the know Journalist Stephen McGowan revealed Celtic are about to lat down £6.5m to Benfica for the winger and he’ll be announced on Friday.

The international transfer window opened at midnight, meaning the Hoops can make it all official.

Jota will be the second signing for Celtic this week after the Hoops finalised a deal for left-back Alexandro Bernabei. Ange Postecoglou for the left-back that he wanted and the player is looking forward to the challenges ahead.

The player spoke to CeltsAreHere and other fan media outlets on Thursday after signing. You can watch that press conference below:

The two signings takes Celtic spend for the week to around £10m. Not chump change for a club plying their trade in Scotland. The security of having Champions league football and season ticket renewals done and dusted means the club know what their finances look like.

  2. If the Green Brigade want to protest and get fined, then surely they should be willing and able to pay the fine instead of the club losing money.
