Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos believes Celtic are now open to loaning out Vasilis Barkas before the end of the window if they can get a goalkeeper in the door.

Giannis claims the Celtic manager was going to run with Barkas as his first team goalkeeper but after seeing him against Midtjylland and West Ham, Ange Postecoglou had a prompt change of heart.

Given the problems Barkas had last season, it stands to reason Ange wouldn’t want to go with the goalkeeper if he is continually making fundamental goalkeeping errors.

Giannis believes Celtic will be open to offers for their goalkeeper BUT will demand a loan fee if another club does want him.

It’s just a signing that hasn’t worked out at all. There’s no denying Barkas has to be better than what he’s shown but we just don’t have the luxury to keep playing him and allowing errors to rack up.

Celtic need someone in goals who is going to win them points when a game is on a knife edge – Barkas is not that man.

We hope Celtic can bring in a goalkeeper and maybe the Greek goalie can go find his form elsewhere.
