The 26-year old rejuvenated his career out in Belgium, impressing throughout the season and has now earned his move back there with Oostende on a permanent basis.

After his performances this season, Hendry earned a recall to Steve Clarke’s Scotland side and made the 26-man squad for Euro 2020, featuring in the first game of the tournament.

Whilst it might be frustrating to some fans that he is signing for Oostende, it goes to show how the loan system can benefit players at the club.

Hendry was off the back of a tough time at the Hoops and a long-term injury from his loan with Melbourne City in Australia. However, he fought his way back to form.

Come the end of the summer transfer window; it would be surprising if Hendry remained at Oostende, with it being likely that they will attempt to move him on for bigger money in the same window.
