It has been speculated over the past 24 hours that Celtic target Tommy Smith looks on his way to Stoke from Huddersfield. Early in the week it appeared Celtic could potentially get the right back to Glasgow but one midlands journalist has gave some more insight into why Tommy’s likely on his way to the Potters.

The fee Celtic were rumoured to be offering for the defender was around £2.5m while Stoke have swooped in and offered £4m without batting an eyelid according to the Telegraph Journalist.

A figure Celtic appear not to be comfortable with to capture the 27-year-olds signature.

Celtic fans know the team is in desperate need of a natural right back and yet another target looks out-with our reach.

With more Champions League qualifiers on the horizon, the longer we leave it, the more precarious our position in the tournament could become.

  1. I dont see why Celtic did not just sunge David Turnbull and that area would be fine bye November and get a few players on lone from lester to help us as its Rogers falt we are in this position there at least 4 rb at lester and 6 stickers so why not apply same as Gerrard dose with liverpool and that give us time to get replesments inn hh?????????

  2. It feels like we just talk about players wanting them on the cheap then some other club comes along puts the money down and who we wanted is snapped up,hey every one they want they get,how come it takes so long to bring in the defenders not midfielders or C forwards now sort the back line out and only add to midfield or forwards when we sell a player or move one out, up front we have 4 C forwards we can go with them midfield we 13 we move one or two out to bring new faces in…
So lets get the defenders sorted out a LB 2 RBs and another CH.give us the big bad boy the CH a no messing CH bring it on..they are up for this they are bringing in players looks like a new 11 but hey they and SG know if they do not stop 9 then 10 will follow give Neil Lennon the money so we can do 9 and get in to CL groups back the manager and lets do this Celtic…
