BRENDAN RODGERS has told the media that Jozo Simunovic will now be out for a few more weeks at least.

The Bosnian international has been out of action since last month and has missed some crucial games. He now looks likely to miss Celtic’s return leg against Bayern as well as this weekends semi-final against Hibs.

When asked about the defenders status Brendan Rodgers responded:

“It’s a repeat of what he had before so probably out for a few weeks but I’ll get more detail on that today.”

With Celtic short on defenders then Mikael Lustig may get the nod again to deputise in defence or will Brendan Rodgers look to Erik Sviatchenko who is on his way back to full fitness?

The Celtic manager will probably not risk the Dane in such an important tie with a lack of match sharpness. It will be up to Boyata and whoever his paired with him to navigate our way to the final of the League Cup.

  1. Can we not just take Jozo back to the shop we bought him from and get a refund? Somebody must have kept the receipt. When he is up and working he is great but just keeps on breaking down once too many times making him about as useful as a Haribo rear bumper.
