Josip Juranovic has responded to speculation regarding his Celtic future. the player has been linked to Premier League clubs, with Athletico Madrid also keen to sign the Celtic player.

However, Juranovic isn’t set on a move, admitting he’s happy to be at a “big club”.

The news reported by Fabrizio Romano that the 26-year-old is likely to leave Celtic this summer certainly shocked Celtic fans. But as the days and weeks go on, a transfer happening looks less likely.

As quoted by the Daily Record, Josip Juranovic stated that his future lies at Celtic, saying;

“I hope there was something in the stories, but honestly I didn’t even ask our manager or anything about it. I didn’t care.

“I have to keep my feet firmly on the ground. It was Atletico Madrid after all, but I’m at a big club already, Celtic.”

It seems as if news of the Spanish club’s interest hasn’t unsettled the player, not even speaking to the manager about it. This suggests that the player is committed to Celtic at the moment, and isn’t entertaining any offers he has on the table.

However, it is open for interpretation. Hoping the reported interest is factual suggests that Josip may be keen to leave Celtic this summer if the club accept an offer. It doesn’t seem as if he’ll push for a move, though.

Celtic Demanding Huge Juranovic Fee

If Josip was to leave Celtic this summer, Celtic would demand a record-breaking fee. He’s got four years left on his Celtic deal and the Parkhead club is in no rush to sell.

With the Champions League also returning to Celtic Park, Postecoglou will want his best players at the club.

This summer isn’t about selling, it’s about building on last season’s success.
