Former Celtic defender Josip Juranovic is still very much in the know with regards to the Hoops as he tuned into watch Sunday’s Viaplay Cup final against Rangers.

He had read all the trash talk from the Ibrox club that had went on and is now backing Ange Postecoglou’s side to deliver a treble. Juranovic also couldn’t resist a dig at Rangers forward Fashion Sakala.

Sunday was a huge day for his new club Union Berlin who took on Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. His side were beaten 3-0 but still only remain three points off top spot. There are still a number of games to go for the German side but they will also be hoping to secure Champions League football for the first time in their history.

Juranovic managed to tune into the game before taking on Bayern and reckons that his old side can add another two pieces of silverware this season. He still remains in close contact to some of his teammates and was delighted for them.

“I watched maybe 35 minutes because I had a game against Bayern Munich here. In my heart I knew that we – we! – would win the cup,” said Juranovic as quoted by [Football Scotland].

“I am still talking with my friends at Celtic. I wished them all luck and told them I would be watching them and that I was really happy that they won the first trophy, but not the last one this year.

“Can Celtic win the Treble? I hope so, that means I can have more trophies in my back pocket.”

Having already won two trophies during his first season in Glasgow, he will also be entitled to a Scottish Premiership medal as he made the minimum ten appearances in the SPFL Premiership.

One of his last acts at Celtic was to feature in the New Year derby game at Ibrox where he admittedly didn’t have the best of games but couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at Sakala.

“I can say it was a difficult time to go into the game at left back without preparation.

“But we didn’t lose, that was the most important thing against a good team. You saw it in the cup final, even at 2-0 you can’t rest as you lose a stupid goal and it can change.

“But the important thing is Celtic are nine points ahead, as Fashion Sakala might say, the other mob!”
