Celtic’s new bhoy Liam Scales was part of the Ireland pool during the international break but didn’t make either matchday squad against Azerbaijan or Qatar.

The new Hoops defender travelled a near 3000 round trip with his country not to get a look in.

Scales was a late call up to the squad and wouldn’t have been expecting much – but Kenny has taken him out of Lennoxtown where Liam has been looking to build his fitness and confidence to get game time at Celtic Park.

The left-back will likely have to wait his chance in the coming games with Celtic and could see his starting XI debut pished back if any of the prep work he’s been doing at Celtic has suffered.

Speaking about the player, Kenny didn’t have much to say:

“Liam is just emerging.” Kenny told the Irish mirror.

“He did really well at Shamrock Rovers, a brilliant season.

“He is versatile and will be looking to try and get into the Celtic team.”

Adam Montogomery has played at left back recently since the injury to Greg Taylor. Scales must look to make himself a viable option in the coming month.
