Ange Postecoglou’s quest to turn Celtic full circle his continuing today with the visit of Livingston to Paradise.

The Celts are currently enjoying a good winning streak under the Australian. There are a few players at the heart of this new-look attacking force and one is fan favourite Jota.

The winger has fans hanging off the edge of their seats as the young Portuguese player weaves in and out of defenders like they were training cones. Some of the skills he’s displayed in the first half today have left commentators tongue-tied and they needed slo-mo replays to work out what the tricking winger was doing.

Most fans have already seen enough and have asked why we can’t get him signed up already. John Hartson echoed those calls today from the Celtic TV studios prematch in his punditry role.

Both the manager and player have already answered the question with both politely commenting that no decision would be made until the end of the season. But why?

  1. Need to score in the first half. Early as possible. Trouble if Celtic don’t. This has 0-0 each written all over it Kyogo on at the beginning of the second half. With every passing minute Livingston grow in confidence. No intelligence to make anything happen. Their keeper has not had anything to save.

  2. 100% , all this shouting about Jota and his effectiveness has been Ziltz . Its all very well nannying about but there must be an end product .

  3. Poor poor performance from Celtic. Where is the urgency? Too tired playing twice a week. Livi will score, everything points to a struggle why can’t we break this rubbish down. Not good enough. Abada’s final pass is garbage almost every time. Get Kyogo and Johnstone on.

  4. 20 minutes gone in the second half not one shot at goal. Good God, this is awful. And to think football is supposed to be part of the entertainment industry.

  5. 15 minutes to go and it is more likely that Livi will score rather than Celtic. Regardless of what lies are used to comment on this game Celtic have been garbage, ineffectual and weak in attack. Clueless and cannot cope with a team regularly hammered in this league. Celtic will win nothing until they learn to play against this rubbish. Did they bottle it chance to go top of the league for the first time in months-looks to have gone because of a weak, insipid performance devoid of imagination.

  6. John, I don’t know what you’re smoking but the only team that’s looking like scoring is Celtic. It’s just that livi are parking the bus the whole time and set themselves up brilliantly. They’ve put pressure on us to make lapsed passes.

But I do agree with taking Giakoumakis off instead of Jota for Forrest.

  7. The big Greek is not a footballer. He should not play for the next 6 weeks. What a shocker of a penalty then another chance at the End. Disgraceful and a result that will be a huge boost to rangers to win tomorrow. what were you doing Ange. clearly you are a limited coach. To not be able to manage to beat them is humiliating. apologise.

  8. ‘ The attitude was spot on’ F–k off Hartson. Attitude should always be spot on at 20 grand a week. Attitude seldom wins games, decent players with ideas and flair do and Celtic’s players only demonstrate this 1 game in 3. 3 lost away, 2 draws. Out of 12 games. Pathetic. 7 wins out of 12. Any team fancies getting a point at CP. To get a draw a team does not even need to have a shot at goal.

  9. Celtic could have gone top today. It may be their only chance to go top. Get ready for the rangers to go and hammer Mwell by 4 or 5. The big Greek did not look confident hitting the penalty so why did he not let Juranovic hit it. Big Ange has the whiff of Tony Mowbray off him ‘well that’s football some times’ is his ‘we’ll take it on the chin…’. Ultimately I would rate him more if he said ‘listen we were garbage and lacked imagination and the ability to pass and shoot in their box. Sorry’ and then left it at that.
