KARAMOKO DEMBELE could be set to play in Celtic’s Champions League qualifier later this month if Celtic can’t get James Forrest up to speed.
James has been unable to join the team in Wales for pre-season because he identified as a close contact for a positive case. It means he’ll be further behind than the rest of the squad when the Champions League qualifiers tole around.
James is a fit bhoy so he might very well just make it BUT if he doesn’t;t, Karamoko Dembele becomes the best option on the right wing for Celtic.
The winger is in the final year of his contract and there’s no suggestion he’s going to sign a new deal with the Hoops, but if he gets his chance under Ange Postecoglou will he change his mind?
There’s a real opportunity for the winger to be a first team squad player and lay down his own marker for the season. You would have to think it’s now or never for Dembele in a Celtic shirt.
Hopefully, he can show the new manager what he’s all about in the four friendlies before the qualifier.
