Karamoko Dembele is set to confirm his new club with an announcement over the next week. [The Secret Scout].

The winger has struggled for first team appearances this season under Ange Postecoglou having only made two appearances off the bench against St Mirren and Dundee United.

It looked like Karamoko might have been handed a Celtic lifeline during the pre-season camp last season until he suffered a horrific ankle fracture against Bristol City which kept him out for the majority of the campaign.

Many Celtic fans had hoped to see the winger more often after he incredibly made his debut for the U20 development side at the age of 13 in 2016 but opportunities have been few and far between.

It will be intriguing to see what direction Dembele’s career takes after the expiry of his contract at Celtic.

In terms of the bigger picture at the club, it’s important that situations like this become a thing of the past. It is imperative that there is a pathway created for players to be given the opportunity to progress from the youth ranks into the first team.

In Dembele’s case, the manager may not have seen the correct credentials in his attitude to further extend his stay at the club and likely couldn’t guarantee first team football.
