Kasper Høgh Is Officially a Celtic Player As Contract Details Announced

Kasper Høgh is officially a Celtic player after completing a move from Bodø/Glimt on a four-year deal, with the club holding the option of a further 12 months.

The transfer, reportedly worth £11m rising with add-ons, represents the second biggest sale in Bodø/Glimt’s history and underlines Celtic’s intent in the market as Martin O’Neill continues to reshape his squad ahead of the new campaign.

He will wear the number nine jersey as he embarks on his new journey in Scotland.

Høgh arrives in Glasgow after a hugely productive two-and-a-half-year spell at the Norwegian club. The 25-year-old helped Bodø/Glimt win the Eliteserien title in 2024 before adding the Norwegian Cup earlier this year, establishing himself as one of the most consistent forwards in Scandinavian football.

His performances in Europe only strengthened that reputation.

Høgh finished as the top scorer in the 2024/25 Europa League with seven goals as Bodø/Glimt reached the semi-finals for the first time in their history.

He carried that form into the Champions League the following season, scoring five goals in 12 appearances as the Norwegian champions reached the Round of 16, their best ever run in Europe’s premier club competition. He also contributed three assists during that campaign.

Across all competitions, Høgh leaves Bodø/Glimt with an impressive return of 54 goals and 22 assists in 103 appearances.

It is a significant signing for Celtic and one that was badly needed.

Following Daizen Maeda’s departure to Ipswich, O’Neill was short of proven attacking quality. Høgh arrives with an excellent goalscoring record, experience of delivering on the European stage and, given the fee involved, clear expectations on his shoulders.

Camilo Durán, Celtic’s first signing of the summer, has already offered an encouraging glimpse of what he can bring after scoring three goals in as many pre-season friendlies.

Rather than competing directly for the same role, Høgh and Durán could quickly develop into a partnership. The Colombian is comfortable operating from the left as well as through the middle, giving O’Neill options to use both in the same side.

Celtic’s pursuit of Høgh has been a long time coming.

The club first explored the move in January, but the striker opted to remain with Bodø/Glimt and test himself in the Champions League. Six months on, the circumstances have changed and Celtic have finally landed one of their priority targets.

Supporters will now be eager to see how quickly he settles.

Business is not finished for the Hoops either. Celtic remain hopeful of completing a deal for Paderborn midfielder Mika Baur. Personal terms are already agreed, with the player pushing for the move, although negotiations over the transfer fee continue.

For now, though, supporters will be glad that Høgh has been officially announced.

He becomes Celtic’s second signing of the summer window and arrives carrying an outstanding recent record in front of goal.

The next step is seeing whether that form translates to Scottish football, with a first appearance potentially coming against Dundee on Monday as Celtic unfurl the championship flag and begin the defence of their Premiership title.
