Kelechi Iheanacho has delivered some massive moments for Celtic this season and even amid the title celebrations, the Nigerian striker is already focused on what comes next.

The former Manchester City and Leicester forward arrived at Celtic in what many viewed as a late panic move following Brendan Rodgers’ difficult summer transfer window.

At the time, there were serious questions surrounding his fitness and whether he could still make a major impact at the highest level.

But despite not becoming a regular starter, Iheanacho has produced some huge contributions during Celtic’s dramatic run to the Premiership title.

Most notably, his stoppage-time penalty against Motherwell kept Celtic alive in the title race before Martin O’Neill’s side eventually completed the comeback against Hearts on the final day.

He also changed the tempo entirely after coming off the bench during the title decider at Celtic Park, helping swing momentum back in Celtic’s favour before Daizen Maeda and Callum Osmand sealed the turnaround.

And while the squad enjoyed emotional celebrations after sealing five-in-a-row, Iheanacho was quickly back to work.

The striker shared footage on Instagram of himself training individually in Manchester on Monday as he looks to continue building sharpness ahead of this weekend’s Scottish Cup Final against Dunfermline.

Martin O’Neill recently admitted Iheanacho is still not quite at the physical level he would ideally want, which explains why the forward has not started many matches despite his importance in key moments.

The Manchester sessions are not new either.

Iheanacho has travelled down south several times throughout the season to complete individual fitness work as he attempts to get himself fully back to peak condition.

His current Celtic deal expires this summer, although the club do hold an option to extend it by a further year.

After some of the decisive moments he has already produced during the run-in, his future could become an interesting talking point once the campaign officially concludes after the cup final.
