Allan Preston an agent who works with Stellar Group – the agency who represents Kieran Tierney has taken to BBC Sportsound to give his honest appraisal of the current situation surrounding his client.

What we’ve taken from the comments below:

  • The idea of Kieran leaving Celtic is very much on the table.
  • There has been no firm interest other than Arsenal’s original bid.
  • Celtic will ultimately be the ones to pull the trigger.
  • Tierney could be tempted by Arsenal move.
  • His passion for Celtic means a deal isn’t as clear cut.

Speaking on Radio Scotland’s Sportsound programme as cited by VideoCelts, Preston broke it down for everyone: “It is all down to Celtic, if they get a price that they believe is the correct value for Kieran Tierney he could possibly be on his way. No one has hit that price yet

“I know Kieran really well, I had some food with him the other day, he is such an unassuming young man. He is wealthy at the moment but he doesn’t possess a watch, he isn’t into material things like this. He still hangs about his pals from when he was a youngster, he sponsors his local pub team where his pals play and he’s not into his designer gear or anything like that.

“As the guys say he loves Celtic, he absolutely loves Celtic. Will there be a time for Kieran Tierney to go? I think that there will be, if it’s just now it will be up to the clubs involved. Arsenal, Napoli or whoever to then put the money on the table and make Celtic think about this.

“If he is on his way he’s on his way. If there is a time for Kieran to go it will be upto Celtic, Peter Lawwell and the board. They have signed a left back but they do need one because Izaguirre is away.”

The rumours have been relentless but the agent has cleared up several things here. Peter and Celtic clearly have their valuation and won’t budge on the price. They know Kieran won’t rock the boat if a deal doesn’t materialise so the club is in a strong position either way.

We keep Kieran if his valuation isn’t met, or our transfer record is smashed for the second summer window in a row.

  1. Hail hail Allan Preston for shining a light on KTs situation this means it’s not as clear cut as made out in the media, Arsenal are trying to steal KT on the
Cheap 30m is a decent price for a player of his quality, lesser gifted players are going for that down south and Celtic should demand the going rate.

  2. Does Kierian have a stipulation in his contract that specifys. All the money for my transfer goes into buying new players and not into the directors pockets.

Because it should, if Celtic want to progress in Europe they should be spending at least £35m every year.

Otherwise no Champions League football at Paradise. Ohh and burying the foe four times in the league, as a bit of banter too.

Kieran, you have a future so go get one, whist you fit and young. You can still watch Celtic games on your phone on your day off. Or buy a helecopter.

  3. We are supposed to be a “Celtic family”, “a club like no other”, and told we should “keep the faith”. But these are nothing more than hollow words when so many are all willing to concede that even the heart and soul of our team can be sold for the “right price”; even when we do not need the money and the player is not in a rush to jump ship yet. We are at a time when we are only now begining to properly fix the leaks, and the loss of KT now could capsize the boat. The time for him to set sail on a new adventure is not right now. He has plenty of time. So lets pray he will here for 10 in a row and who knows, maybe big Billy McNeil and Stevie Chalmers can have a word with the big man, and help us win a European cup of some sort 😉
