It’s probably one of Celtic’s biggest concerns on the field at the moment – will Kieran Tierney be fit for the Scottish Cup Final.

Unfortunately, Neil Lennon could not answer that question today but he did give a timeframe for when we might find out the severity of Kieran’s injury.

Speaking to CelticTV, the interim Celtic boss gave a brief update on his defender’s status.

“He’s seeing a specialist today (Thursday 25 April), so we’ll probably know later on this evening about his prognosis.

“He’s not trained so he’ll be a doubt for Saturday.”

I think Celtic fans would be happy to see Kieran rested if it meant the left-back would be available for the Cup Final next month. Of course, if he receives lousy news, his season could be prematurely over. Kieran will be desperate to try and get fit to make more history with this Celtic side. However, his long term fitness is more important.

The defender has played a crazy amount of games in the past 4-5 years, and he may just need a more extended rest than some to recover. Surgery could also be required to cure his current problem.
