BRENDAN RODGERS has warned Celtic fans Kieran Tierney may NOT be fit for the end of year showdown at Ibrox after sitting out another game on Wednesday.

The Celtic manager spoke before Christmas about the left back being available for the Aberdeen and Ibrox ties – but when the team sheet dropped this afternoon, the defender was nowhere to be seen.

Tierney has been dealing with a hip injury which has seen him play very few times in December. Kieran’s last outing was during the 2-1 defeat to Salzburg in the Europa League.

Emilio Izaguirre has been deputising in the player’s absence, but the Honduran went off at halftime with a slight injury and could also be a doubt for Ibrox.

This would leave Celtic without a natural left back, but Brendan Rodgers will not rule out his star defender just yet.

“He is clearly a question mark. In the next 48 hours, we will see.” Rodgers told BT Sports in his post-match interview.

“If not, it’s unfortunate, but we have other guys to come into the squad and that’s always an opportunity.”
