KIERAN TIERNEY signed for Arsenal while he was still nursing an injury which was troublesome throughout his final season with Celtic.

The Arsenal medical not flagging anything that would be a long term issue, the Londoner’s concluded the deal with the Scottish Champions for a whopping £25m

Since August, Kieran Tierney has only played 77 minutes of football in the League Cup for the Gunners since returning from injury. However, the defender was not part of the squad for the draw against Manchester Utd on Monday night and now the player looks to have pulled out of the Scotland squad ahead of an official recall which would’ve taken place later today.

Has the player suffered a setback with is injury or is this merely a precautionary measure. It would stand to reason Arsenal wouldn’t want him playing and training with Scotland if they thought i could set his progress back further.

According to SunSport, the player was expected to receive his first call up under Steve Clarke but this has now been shelved for the time being.

Was a part of the reason Celtic sold the player was because they were unsure of his fitness going forward?
