BRENDAN RODGERS has a few big decisions to make with regards to quad selection for Thursday night’s game against Valencia.

  • Does the Irishman start with Oli Burke up top?
  • Can Kieran Tierney possibly come straight back into the team?
  • Should Edouard be given the nod?
  • Is Bain keeping the gloves for Celtic’s biggest game of the season?

If Celtic are looking to come out the traps flying then having Oli Burke starting the game may be the best thing to do. However, the Celtic manager might want to save the Scottish attacker for when the game is a bit more stretched.

Kieran Tierney has played no first-team football since the Salzburg game in December, the player returned to training last week but didn’t even make the bench against St Johnstone at the weekend leading many to believe Rodgers does not have the defender in his plans. Could he spring a major surprise?

Edouard has shown on European nights he is a cool head who can get a goal when Celtic need one, His goals against Leipzig both home and away is a testament to that. The Frenchman got some game time against St Johnstone, so you never know.

The goalkeeping situation seems like the easiest one to call. Scott Bain has been in goals for the club since the start of 2019 and done very well; we doubt Rodgers will dent Bain’s confidence by dropping him for the European tie.
