Charlie Nicholas clearly likes endearing himself to Arsenal fans as much as he does to Celtic fans. The ex-Celtic striker winds up Celtic fans with some of the ridiculous statements he has come out with about Celtic down the years.

It seems Arsenal are fair game too as the ex-Arsenal striker puts the boot into his old club regarding their pending signing of Kieran Tierney.

Speaking with the Metro, Nicholas didn’t only question Tierney’s move to Arsenal but for some reason wanted to know why Ole Gunnar Solskajer didn’t steal the player from under the Londoners.

The Sky Pundit said:

“Kieran Tierney should be asking himself if this is the right time to join Arsenal. ‘I just don’t see how a left-back is a priority for my old club. Arsenal needs a centre-back or even two before they should even be considering a full-back. ‘Arsenal is a top-six side but they are probably short of the top four. If Tierney goes to the Emirates it will be far from ideal for him with the quality of the other Arsenal defenders.”

It would be interesting but probably predictable to see what Arsenal fans think of Nicholas’s comments. At least it is not just Celtic that he scores some attention from with his over the top statements.

The English transfer window will close today at 5 pm, Celtic fans are just waiting for news that Scott Sinclair and Kieran Tierney have left the club to move to England. Some fans are probably hoping for a miracle regarding the Tierney transfer but it looks like a done deal.

  1. There’s one thing definite Tierney will b more successful than you Charlie , he wii be there to play foot ball no to stick your name up yer nose

  2. Who exactly are you commenting on John?
It is not clear. Is it Kieran or Charlie. Kieran does not deserve the term used – Nicholas does IMHO.
