NEIL LENNON confirmed Kieran Tierney is back in training and his looking good to play at Pittodrie on Saturday but the Irishman has also revealed the defender will need a double hernia operation this summer to fully cure him of his current injury woes.

Kieran has had a disrupted season due to an ongoing hip injury which has plagued the player since the back end of 2018.

The left back missed Celtic’s win against Kilmarnock last weekend because he was due to see a specialist. Since then the defender has reacted well in training and looks like he will be able to see out the rest of the season if he’s managed carefully.

However, it will be in the summer when Kieran will go under the knife in a bid to cure the problem once and for all. This means the defender will not be available for Scotland’s summer fixtures as he will be in recovery ahead of the new season according to STV.

Celtic fans will welcome the news the player and the club are seeking to find a solution to Kieran’s injury and it will be a bonus if he can help the bhoys make history in the last four games of this campaign.
