Celtic return to action this afternoon with a trip to Rugby Park, but the football might not be the main story.

Kilmarnock vs Celtic – Match Preview

It’s been a chaotic international break for the club. The 0-0 draw at Ibrox already feels like a lifetime ago, with the mood around Celtic Park shifting dramatically in recent days. Fans are furious, the board is under fire, and pressure is building on Brendan Rodgers and those above him.

Kick-off Time & How to Watch

Team News and Injury Updates

Since the last match, a public open letter criticising the Celtic board has been signed by hundreds of supporters’ groups, CSCs, and fan media outlets. A club “source” then told The Sun that Rodgers was “tearing the club apart” and plotting an exit, only for Celtic to respond with a 1,000-word statement that said very little — and took even less accountability for a dismal transfer window.

Now it’s the team’s turn to speak.

We could see two debuts: Tounekti on the right wing and Iheanacho leading the line. With Anthony Ralston injured, Colby Donovan is expected to slot in at right-back. Meanwhile, Daizen Maeda may be dropped after publicly admitting he’d agreed terms with another club during the summer.

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Ralston is out, after we showed a photo of him wearing a moonboot on Thursday.

Brendan Rodgers Reacts to Planned Protest

Asked if the planned 12 minutes without the 12th man protest will affect his players, Rodgers told Celtic TV, “I think, for us, of course, fans will be—I can’t tell them what to do. All I want to be able to do is let them understand that they mean everything to us, and when they get behind the team, they lift us. It’s having that lift as much as we possibly can, for as many minutes as we possibly can. Hopefully, we can go on a run now to lift them and reconnect.”

He admitted that he assumes the players will be aware of it, “I’m pretty sure they’ll be aware of it. We just need to focus on the football aspect of it. Hopefully, we can get that support that can drive the team forward.”
