Kjetil Knutsen looks more and more likely to stay at Bodø/Glimt beyond the new year, but that hasn’t stopped Celtic fans from wondering what he could bring to Glasgow.
The Norwegian has built a strong reputation for his style of play, his development of players and his European breakthroughs. It’s no surprise Celtic supporters have kept him on their radar. But with Bodø/Glimt deep into contract talks and preparing for major fixtures, any move would require a dramatic shift.
Still, the discussion around what Knutsen would look like at Celtic remains alive. And according to someone who watches him closely, the fit would be seamless.
TV2 Sport reporter Espen Langeveld told CeltsAreHere that Knutsen’s approach matches exactly what Celtic try to be on the pitch.
He said: “Knutsen is a very attack-minded coach who stays true to his 4-3-3 system. The goal is always to play out from the back and play attacking football, no matter the opponent.
“I think the experience he now has with Bodø/Glimt — after failing to qualify for the Champions League for several years and then finally doing it — will help him handle pressure in the future.
“His football would definitely suit Celtic’s fast, attacking approach.”
Knutsen’s reputation has grown because of what he’s built, not where he’s built it. His teams play fast, aggressive football and stick to their principles, something Celtic supporters always respond to.
But the question has never been about fit. It’s about timing. With Bodø/Glimt pushing for more European success and already planning ahead, prising him away is far from simple.

If anything changes, though, Knutsen is already viewed as someone who could slot straight into Celtic’s footballing DNA.
Whether he ever makes that leap remains the biggest unknown.
